Software Used - (Safia Shafi)

Software Used

We used many software’s to create our blog and will also be using some of these software’s when it comes to making our thriller. One of the software’s we used is Scribd, we uploaded our production schedule, production brief and our script on Scribd then put it on our blog, it is a very easy and straightforward software to use, we decided to use this software to make our blog as interactive as possible, using this software has given our blog a more professional and organised look.
Another Software that we used is bubbl.us, Laura used this software to create our brainstorm, it is a really good software for creating brainstorm cause it allows you to freely look at the brain storm, you can zoom in and out and navigate it left, right, up and down. Using this software has made our brainstorm look interesting and colourful.

The only problem with this software is that every now and then it doesn’t show on our blog, but this is a problem we will try to overcome in the future.
Final cut pro is software we used and we will be using in the future, unlike the other software this software is more complicated to use and is quite hard to use. It’s editing software that we used to edit our preliminary task and that our editor safia will be using to edit our thriller, I also used this software to edit our pitch and weekly update. After editing the preliminary task I found that once you get used to using it, it becomes easier to use. In the future I hope that as the editor I am able to use this software with no problems.

To create our logo tobi used Photoshop which is a software she is experienced in using, because she is experienced in using this software she was able to create an eye catching logo that is unique. She found this software very easy to use and was able to create the logo with no trouble.

Also some of the things we uploaded were created using paint, which is by far the easiest to us out off all the software, this is because the software is very straight forward and easy to follow.

To upload all our videos we used YouTube, we first uploaded it on YouTube and then uploaded it on our blog, we sometimes had lots of trouble with uploading our videos on YouTube, for example when it came to uploading our weekly update it took longer than expected, the first time we tried one of my group members Laura waited almost two hours but it still wouldn’t upload so we decided to try it on another computer, but YouTube was the problem not the computer so eventually after trying so many times we managed to upload it.

New Logo and Title Squence Design - Olutobi Odeleye

This is our New logo, which is quiet different from the other one....

Here is a step by step guide on how I made the title sequence on adobe photoshop CS5.

Step 1 : I opened a new layer and titled it rebecca
Step 2: I when on text and placed it on the layer, and typed rebecca
Step 3: In the layer box on the right hand side, I went on blending options.
Step 4: Then I used shadow, glow, Emboss.etc....
Step 5: Layer, Merge Layer.
Step 6: Save file as JPG.

This adds to the effects mood and feeling we hoping to evoke as a thriller genre.

Location Notes - Olutobi Odeleye

     1. This is the subway location where you see the protagonists running inside. We decided to use this so as to make the first scene look as realistic and natural as possible. Also it distorts the audience, because the subway as several exit so it is not revealed exactly where the character is running from and towards.
     2. This dark subway tunnel worked well in adding an enigma to the clip, as it creates a scary mood and atmosphere, the protagonists runs towards the camera, this suggest perhaps she finally escapes from what she was running from

     3. Then the long road out of the tunnel, shows that it is not over there is more she is hasn't quiet yet escaped which heightens the tensions, and leaves the audience wondering where and what could she be running to, and the camera shows the this long shot from an audience perspective as perhaps the unknown character who is running towards her, this could make the audience think that she is being chased.

      4. The bridge scene is a very peculiar location for our clip; it shows the character crossing to the other side, this creates an unsolved mystery whether a run to safety or danger waits. The bridge adds to the exquisite feelings intended and the codes and convention of our thriller genre.

      5.  This is where the high angle was used to show the protagonists inferiorities, as she looks smaller. Here the audience are still puzzled as to what she is running from, or running to. This location also was successful at linking with the park scene, where it both looked similar.

      6. An extreme long shot was used for this location because it was a very long path, and filming her from close would confuse the audience as to where she is. Hence it was also a form of establishing shot.

      7. This is the first door the protagonists attempts to go through escape or get into her reached destination. Also this scene is the first instance where the true identity of her character starts to unveil as she tries to get through the door in an aggressive manner, and perhaps she isn’t has innocent as the audience perceived at the start.

      8.  This is the window, she tries to open as her second attempt in trying to get into the building, this shows her desperateness.

      9.  Then this Second door, behind the building was her success in breaking through the building as she pushes the door open. finally this is where the purpose of her running is revealed, as she looks straight at the antagonists at the end.
